Don't put too much money into the house: You don't want to put too much money into the house before selling it unless you can be sure it's going to pay off. You should do what you can to fix eyesores you can repair for a minimal amount, but don't worry about dumping a lot of money into it unless you are wanting to follow through with a complete remodel.
Give a neighbor your contact information: If you are staying somewhere else while your home sells, you should give your contact information to a neighbor you trust. This way, they will be able to get ahold of you if something is going on at your house or if something happens.
